"Hey! I think I found a...

mouse!" - my brother Robert.

Yes... we found a mouse in the house today - a first, to be sure. It was quite an exciting event, actually. At first I thought Robert was just messing with me and wanted to see what kind of reaction he could get with such an exclamation - but sure enough, there was a mouse in our dinning room. A cute one, too... as all of three my brothers told me incessantly.

*looks at me pleadingly* - my brother, William

"No; we are not keeping it." - me

"But it's so cute..." - William

*gives a look that implies, I can't believe you just said that* - me

"Well... it just is. It's not like those other mice - it's brown." - William

That's when I lost it with laughter. Anyway...

I wanted to bring in one of our many cats and have them catch it. Will wanted to catch it ourselves and keep it in a box. So, we compromised and did both. In the end, it turns out that we have some of the stupidest cats I have ever seen. The mouse actually ran around the cat's legs, several times - and the cat did absolutely nothing. Simply nothing. So much for having "great mousers."

After the failed attempts at having the cats catch the mouse, we eventually caught it ourselves and put it in a box - where it remains to this moment. We'll see what Dad wants to do with it when he gets home....

Oh! We also found out today - during the course of catching the mouse - that we have 11 new kittens! And, no, they are not from the same momma. *smile* It turns out that we actually had two different mommas give birth to kittens on the same day. How cool is that?

Well, there's an update for ya'!
