Thursday, after the ordeal with the DMV and we had finished running the rest of our errands, Mom, Dad and I went home to pick up the rest of the family and head out to the market garden. We had a bunch of planting that really needed to be done ASAP. Anyway, after we had finished working for the day, I was allowed to *drive* for the first time. This is something that I have been looking forward to for the last 2 years, and it was with great excitement that I began the four-mile journey from the market garden to my grandparents' house. That is until I almost hit a mail box. And an electricity pole. And then almost ran into the ditch. *LOL* Here are the facts of the situation:
(1) Trying to drive for the first time in a 12-passenger van is rather difficult.
(2) Trying to drive for the first time with 7 different people in the vehicle telling you what to do is nearly impossible.
(3) Go-carts do NOT provide good prep for driving. In my case, my experience with Go-carts actually made it twice as hard....
By the time I was done and had stopped the engine, I was ready to cry. And cry I did for the next 45 minutes straight. Thursday was not my best day ever.
Friday was better, though. I got to drive again - three times - and did a remarkably better job than my first time.
Saturday was the ACT, as I have already mentioned many times in previous posts. (And I bet you're tired of hearing about it, too.) It went well - up until the writing portion. Simply put, my hand cramped up so badly that I could barely finish two pages of work. And I'm not so sure that those were all that good, anyway... I'll see in 4 to 8 weeks, I guess. After the ACT, Mom, Dad and I went out for lunch at Panera. It was a great way to end a stressful morning.
Today has been one of those gray, lazy days. I actually slept for about 12 hours last night, and I'm feeling fairly good right now. After over a month of only getting six hours of sleep each night, I really needed the rest.

I am praying for your family and for you that you don't end up in the hospital. hehe Sounds like you will be a very good driver... with some practice. Hope to see you soon!
Love,

Goodness girl! You need a vacation. I remember driving the first time. It was so scary. And then when I failed my Driver's Test the first time I cried. But I was very prepared and aced it the next time. I can't wait to hear how you did on the ACT. =)
Yes Megan You are right. I knew it would not be hard for you all. Now YOU need to take the test and put it up on your blog. You might just be Elizabeth like me!
