Wisdom Teeth

Monday - the day after I got back from camp - I had my two right wisdom teeth out. Say it with me, Ouch!! Actually, the surgery itself wasn't that bad (and I was awake for that); it's the living after the surgery that I've found hard. The first six hours after surgery were the worst: the pain killers hadn't yet kicked in, and I was hurting real bad. But after the pain killer/sedative kicked in, I was in good shape.

Tuesday morning I woke up to "chipmunk face." Imagine an overfed, sleepy chipmunk - and you've got me right now. ;-) Seriously, I try not to look into mirrors because of how depressing it is. *laughs* Mom tells me that I will eventually look normal again - it's just hard to believe that right now. I've tried everything (OK, two things): ibuprofen and ice packs. But nothing seems to give lasting relief. Oh, well. Things have to get better eventually.

I'm enjoying my diet of soup, ice cream, and yogurt. Actually, my "liquid-only diet" has been quite enjoyable so far... we'll see how I'm doing 5 days from now, though.
