I've never formally done this before, but I thought it would be fun to make a list of specific things I'm thankful for this year. As my nature is of the rather random sort, this list will not be in any particlular order. ;-) I am thankful...
1. For God's grace in my life: no matter what I've gone through this year - no matter what mood, or surprise, or trial - God has always been a faithful and caring Father to me. And I don't even want to consider where I would be right now without Him.
2. For my mother: Mom has been such a blessing to me this year. Although we still have experience rough days, our friendship has steadily grown in love and confidence over the past year. I'm ever thankful for her love, wisdom, and patience....
3. For the good crops this year: we're not exactly rich (ha!), but I'm thankful for the rain we got over the summer that made a huge difference in the crop yields this year.
4. For friends: God shows His love for me everyday through His people, especially though my many fabulous, wonderful, terrific, sold-out for God friends. :-) Each of them are more of a blessing to me than they will ever know.
5. For high-speed internet: where would I be without the internet?? Alright, I suppose I'd survive - but it sure does make things more fun.
6. For Firefly, Alias, and Lost: hands down the best entertainment on television *ever*. It may sound strange to thank God for TV, but I am thankful for the unique gifts and visions that He has given the creators of these ever fascinating, ever entertaining shows.
7. For Dad, Will, Ben, Ro, Sarah, and Johnna: where would the fun of life be without these seven people? Honestly, the most fun and laughter I've ever had has been with my family. They certainly know how to keep you on your toes...
8. For music: what a special gift music is. From participating in choir, to relaxing to the sounds of The Thirteen (they produce the most gorgeous classical arrangements), to finally being able to play the piano - there is no end to the ways God has blessed me through music.
9. For food: What can I say? Food is just plain yummy.
10. For Johnna's sweetness: it has been my pleasure to watch the kind of young lady Johnna is becoming. She is sweet, strong-will, kind, and loving. I can't wait to see what God is going to do with her.
- And I think I'll stop there for now. I could go on forever, God is simply that good, but I'm afraid Mom needs my help in the kitchen.
Twala!
