Just Like the Olden Days

This morning I had the unique experience of trying to heat my bathwater in a pot. *LOL* (I hope this isn't TMI for some of you.) And even after I was able to add a large pot of boiling water to the gallons already in the tub, it was only just bearable: I think I may have broken my own record for "fastest bath." You see, apparently our water heater went ca-put in the middle of the night, and now we now longer have the luxury of hot water. Just goes to show that you don't know what ya' got til it's gone.... Anyway, I'm not certain what exactly is wrong with the heater, but Dad is quite the handy-man and should be able to figure it out and have everything working in no time flat - just as soon as he gets off from work and finds the time to purchase whatever replacement parts are needed.

Mom's been gone since 7am with a friend. They went down to Arthur, IL to purchase food(cheese, cream, couscous, soup mix, etc.) from some Amish retailers. Anyway, Mom will be back soon, but not for long. Once Dad gets home from work, they're both heading to Carlock(45min drive) for the Co-op delivery. *sigh* I hate it when Mom and Dad are gone most of the day, but such has the reality of life been for most of this year. It seems like we're going in a million directions some days....

Boy, has this year gone by fast. It's hard to believe that my birthday is coming up, and that soon afterwards it will be a new year. I'm not ready for 2006: I've just recently gotten used to it being 2005. :-) And they say that life only goes by faster the older you get... thankfully, this life isn't the end - not even close. And more than that, the life beyond this one is infinitely better. I love the life I'm living, and I hope to live to be an 'old and cranky woman' *LOL* (for my loved one's sake, I certainly hope the latter isn't true), but I long for the day when Christ will return and I will get to see my Redeemer face to face.

Well, I need to be off. Since Mom's gone, I'm in charge, and I think a couple of my "charges" could use a nap about now.

Twala!
