Yesterday morning I had an appointment with my chiropractor, when I took a MSA test for the first time.
The MSA test measures the energy levels at the meridian points on the hands and feet, each of which correlate to various organs (liver, gall bladder, etc.) and body systems (nervous system, hormonal system, etc.)
This test is able to tell you - and pretty accurately - if any of your organs or body systems are out of balance (either degenerating or inflamed). It does so by measuring the energy levels (frequencies) of each meridian point a scale of 0 - 100. A reading between 50 and 65 is normal; below 50 means the organ or body system is in degeneration; above 65 means that the organ or body system is inflamed.
It turns out that my adrenal glands, liver, pancreas and gall bladder are all in degeneration; and my pituitary gland, thyroid gland and nervous system are all inflamed. I also found out - beyond a shadow of a doubt - that I do have a serious candida infection. All of this explains quite a bit about why I have been experiencing the difficulties that I have during the last the couple years... it's so comforting to know that it's not all in my head!
Anyway, the beauty of the MSA test is that it can very easily pin-point specific remedies that will work with your unique body. And I just have to share what it pulled up for me -
My chiropractor was hoping to find some food-based remedy for me, to start out with a treatment plan that involved a healthy diet. But that's not what the machine pulled up for me. It was able to discern (from the messages that my body was sending it from my adrenal glands) that what I really needed were several English flower essences. At first, I couldn't believe it. How on earth were "flower essences" going to help me? Come on! But then I looked at what the essences were supposed to help treat... and wow! I was absolutely floored: the descriptions were me in a nutshell. They all had to do with very specific, unhealthy mental and emotional habits. They are things that I knew about, but hadn't really considered how potentially damaging they might be.
Anyway, so now I have a good idea of what I'm facing, and what I need to do in order to live a more energetic, healthy life. I go back in for a check up in two months, and will know then just how helpful the treatment I'm taking now is. Thank God for excellent chiropractors and technology!

Wow, that's awesome. Maybe I need to hook up with a chiropractor like that. Hmmm...
Oh and I absolutely love your first quote between you and your mom. =)
